DAC Audit Services actively participates in AAQG, RMC meetings and Auditor Workshops to learn about upcoming changes to the Aerospace requirements. We then pass this information on to our clients and prospective clients.

 

Aerospace Standards (available from SAE)

There have been many updates during the 2009 year in Aviation, Space and Defense during the 2009 year. The AQMS standards AS9100BAS9110, & AS9120  have been updated and released.  

The AS9101/2009 QMS Audit Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defencse Organization is expected to be published before end of 2009 this will update the current AS9101(C) QMS Assessment Questionnaire.  
Below is a list of updated standards.

AS9100:2009 Quality Management Systems - Requirements for Avaiation, Space and Sefense Organizations - Published in Jan 2009 

AS9110:2009 Quality Management Systems - Requirements for Aviation Maintenance Organizations - Published in June 2009 

AS9120:2009 Quality Management Systems - Requirements for Aviation, Space & Defense Distributors - Published June 2009

AS9104/1 - Supporting Standard For Registrars- Standard Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense QMS Certification Programs is expected to be published by April 2010 this will replace the curent AS9104(A).

AS9014 - Americas Aerospace Quality Group (AAQG) Requirements for Aerospace Quality Management System Certification/Registrations Programs, this has replaced AIR5359. The AS9014 standard includes the AS9104 requirements and specifies additional AAQG(Americas)requirements for certification/registration of Aerospace Quality Management Systems.

AS9104/2 -  Requirements for Oversight of AQMS

AS9104/3 - Aerospace Trainer Providers -Requirements for Aerospace Auditor competency and Training Courses

Suppliers are encouraged to go to the website and download a copy of the Supply Chain Management Handbook (SCMH) which has been published as an E-Book. This handbook has been provided by the IAQG to assist with the advancement of quality practices. Its use is entirely voluntary.

UPDATE ON AQMS 2009 STANDARDS---
At the October 2009 IAQG meeting in Germany the following time line for transition to the 2009 version of AQMS standards (9100/9110/9120) and supporting standards was finalized and published.*

Jan 1, 2010 - April 30, 2010 
  • Development of Auditor Training  
  • Training Provider Approvals
April 30, 2010 - July 1, 2011
  • Train Trainers
  • Train auditor
  • Accredit CB's
Certification of Organizations can start anytime after accreditation of Auditors and CB's (registrars)

July 1, 2011 - July 1, 2012
  • Audit to New Standard
Effective July 1, 2012,  AS9100:2004 (B) is canceled

*Additional Audit Time will be required for upgrade audits.   Transition Audit (upgrade) performed during:

  • Surveillance will be equal to a Recertification audit.   
  • Recertification will be equal to an initial audit.
A new audit day table will be released in the AS9104/1 for CB's.

Important information regarding the OASIS database.
OASIS is the Online Aerospace Supplier Information System for Aerospace.

  • All registered AS9100 companies must be listed listed on the OASIS.
  • All companies must have an assigned OASIS Supplier Administrator
