Why isn't my industry worthy of dedicated support?
Most Registrars are not necessarily oriented towards the small to medium sized business. In addition, the many organizations performing certification, many are from the marine/shipping, accounting, and inspection/testing industries. They do not identify culturally with you the small to medium sized and many times specialized company. No one has addressed your supplier needs with an understanding and respect for your industry and manner by which you do business.
Why is our quality system not given the recognition it deserves?
Auditors have typically approached a Company’s quality system as being more of what “they” would like it to be versus what it legitimately can be according to the standard. They forget that IT IS YOUR ISO SYSTEM. They are especially threatened when you utilize additional resources (ie. consultants) to achieve your certification goals. They treat such support as inconsequential, which translates over to you and your system.
We firmly believe that anything you do or utilize to be successful is an indication of your commitment. A Registrar that can appreciate this should be support and welcome it.
Why do I feel more like an account number than a client?
Most certification organizations see you not as a client, but as an audit contract. Once the contract is signed you are now an account number to them!
